The Portuguese D8 visa programme was launched by the Portuguese government to help stimulate the portuguese economy and has since encouraged several billion Euros  in investment and over 2,000 applications each year. It is one of the most popular visa programs in Europe.

GET AN EUROPEAN RESIDENCE PERMIT

This programme is the easiest way to get a temporary residence permit that is valid for a period of one year from the date on which the permit was issued, and is renewable for successive periods of two years. The temporary permit might become permanent after 5 years if the required conditions uphold.

To apply for the D8 Portuguese Visa, you'll need to provide a range of documents, including:

​

1) Proof of income: You'll need to show that you have a reliable source of income outside of Portugal. You'll need to provide documents such as bank statements, tax returns, and investment portfolios to demonstrate your income that should be over 3,480€ per month. You should also have at least 10,440€ in savings.

2) Health insurance: You'll need to have valid health insurance that covers you in Portugal.

​

3) Criminal background check: You'll need to provide a criminal background check from your country of origin and any other country where you've lived for more than a year.

 

4) Housing: You'll need to have a place to live in Portugal, such as a rental agreement or proof of property ownership.

 

5) Application form: You'll need to complete the D7 Portuguese Visa application form.

RENEW THE RESIDENCE PERMIT

The first temporary residence permit will be valid for a one year period and renewed for periods of 2 years after that, turning into a permanent residence permit after five years, since the first one.

 

 

ACQUISITION OF PORTUGUESE NATIONALITY

Any person that has resided legally in Portugal for at least six years, using either a temporary residence permit, or a permanent residence permit, is qualified for the acquisition of the Portuguese nationality.
